There was something unsettling about it when I finished this painting. I no longer saw an agricultural landscape, but rather a whole, almost in motion. Independent, distinct territories that communicate, converse, and respond to one another. The interplay of light and shadow contributes to this coherence. Despite their differences, a balance is maintained.
