French Polynesia

Inspired by photographs by Ben & Sév (Tourist Geek)

These paintings have become my inner sanctuaries. In the glazes, light and depth intertwine; in the details, the promise of a journey is subtly woven. Having never set foot on the lands of Tahiti, I have found here, and in a different way, the gentleness of its shores.

Why French Polynesia?

I was living in Beijing when this series began. While working with oxidation, I saw imaginary landscapes emerge: the blue and green of the copper reminded me of the ocean, the lines resembled estuaries, waves, or shores. I then felt the urge to paint the sea, trees, and sand...

While searching for inspiring images, I discovered the drone photographs of Ben and Sév. Their vision perfectly matched what I was trying to create. It was a turning point in my way of painting, of looking at nature, of seeking to discover the world.

That's where it all began.

With each series, everything starts again and this quest is always renewed, driven by the surprises that aerial vision holds.

Here are 6 paintings. The entire series can be seen in the gallery.
For those who would like to extend their trip at home,
I am available for any further information.
