It all begins with a landscape observed from above.
At this distance, paths become lines, plots of land take on shapes, and crops compose an almost abstract geometry. Yet nothing is invented: behind every circle, every square, every break remains the trace of a territory shaped by the earth, time, and man.
Gradually, I move away from the image that served as my starting point. I simplify, shift, erase. Some forms assert themselves, others disappear. The landscape then ceases to be represented and becomes a rhythm, a balance.
Sometimes silence.
Each circle breathes, each square takes root.
Between order and irregularity, figuration and abstraction, Champs seeks that moment when the earth, seen from the sky, becomes almost a language.
