Oxidation

Inspired by magnification of copper oxidation spots

The beginning. The rebirth.

With this series, I rediscovered my brushes and acrylics. I was searching, feeling my way... and I let myself flow, just as my strokes did on the canvas. The rust stains became landscapes, mysterious and sinuous networks, a material to explore.

Here I present the triptych. The entire series can be seen in the gallery.
For those who would like to extend their trip at home,
I am available for any further information.

OXY 1-2-3 (2020 - 2023)

Acrylic on canvas, gold leaf in places - 3 x 50/70

Why oxidation?

I started painting by trying my hand at abstract art in 2005. Then, in 2019, a desire for renewal pushed me to cross into other territories, to experiment with new techniques.

Oxidation presented itself, somewhere between chance and certainty. In this journey to the heart of the infinitely small, I found a material that transformed me and guided me towards what I paint today.
