French Polynesia
Inspired by photographs by Ben & Sév (Tourist Geek)
This series made me dream so much. Full of softness, calm and serenity... filled with details, layered glazes for transparency and depth, plays of light and shadows. These canvases are full of details, of finesse, so that the journey takes place from afar but also when observed closely...
Having never had the chance to go to Tahiti, I traveled, in a way, to these fine sandy beaches.

Why French Polynesia?
I was living in Beijing when I created this series. When creating the paintings about oxidation and the journey into infinity, my mind traveled when I enlarged the images: the blue and green of the oxidation of copper, the way these colors were distributed, made me think of estuaries. So I wanted to paint the ocean, then the waves, the trees, the sand... I started looking for inspiring and original photos. I found Ben and Sév's page and I was captivated by their photos taken by drone: this vision corresponded to what I wanted to create. A decisive turning point in my way of wanting to paint, of seeing nature, the world. This is where it all began... again. Again because I reinvent myself with each series. I look for new themes, always with this aerial vision.
